Born in Florida but inspired by the bluegrass and beach music around me when I lived in North Carolina, the songs I write can fall under many genres, such as folk, pop, old-style country, and R&B. I am first and foremost a songwriter. One way for my songs to be heard is for me to perform them. I've worked with a very talented producer, Sean Hunter at Crescendo Sound Studios in Gainesville, Florida to create a demo I believe can be pitched to other artists as well as used for licensed material in movies, TV, or commercials.

I'm going to Barbados this weekend to referee a rugby 7's tournament!
The Writing Rugger
By three-years-old, I was a musician; piano, then guitar and mandolin. In college I began writing songs and performing for people. But when I joined the rugby team at the University of Florida, my life changed.
I played rugby for about eight years. There were times when I thought I wanted to pursue music as a performer, but when I retired from playing rugby and began my career as a referee, I knew that I would be most happy just writing songs.
I've enjoyed recording my first studio demo, to be released by the end of the year (HOPEFULLY!), which will be called "Anonymous". I've just gotten to the point where I wish I didn't have to be the face of my songs, that they could just be entities in and of themselves. Ideally, I'll be able to license my songs to other artists or pitch this demo to TV, movies, commercials, whatever. So I like to say I just want to see my name in liner notes and on ASCAP checks!
In the meantime, I train hard to grow into an elite rugby referee and am blessed enough to have the opportunity to travel a lot doing that.
I don't like being stared at, but understand it goes with the territory both as a referee and a musical performer. The adoration and attention I got as an entertainer made me uncomfortable. Ironically, I'd rather be hated and scrutized as a sports official because ultimately I'm serving the Game that shaped my character, and that makes me feel good.
So, I'm just gonna keep on writing songs and stay in the shadows of the music world while I work hard to be the right referee for the match in front of me and live in the moment. My big dream for music is to win a Grammy for Song of the Year and referee rugby 7's at the Olympics in 2016.
God bless.
