I started out in the music business as a concert promoter and got the chance to work with acts like: Earth, Wind & Fire, The Doobie Brothers, Jimmy Buffett, Boz Scaggs, The Commodores, George Benson and many more. I later joined the Pharaohs and played casinos & clubs opening shows for Bachman Turner Overdrive, Sawyer Brown, Brownsville Station, LeRoux etc. Chalmers Davis of the Muscle Shoals FAME II session band and keyboardist for Little Richard is featured on most of these tracks. Guitarist Jimmy Henderson of Black Oak Arkansas is featured on some tracks as well. Wayne Ammons - Biography
A Mississippi native, Wayne got his start in the music business as a promoter for the University of Southern Mississippi which afforded him the opportunity to work with many of the world's biggest acts such as: Jimmy Buffett, Earth Wind & Fire, The Commodores,The Doobie Brothers and many more.
Wayne later joined The Pharaohs and played casinos and clubs extensively opening shows for Sawyer Brown, LeRoux, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Brownsville Station & others.
After forming his own band Wayne began to focus on songwriting and recording. The music on the latest CD "About Time" is influenced by the classic rock / blues genre with a trace of country. Chalmers Davis, keyboardist for Little Richard produced and played on the recordings. Jimmy Henderson, former guitarist for Black Oak Arkansas is featured on some tracks as well.
