Lyrics

Pretty paper, tied up with ribbons, and a candlelight dinner for two.
Christmas stockings, are hung by the fire,
the same way that Grandma would do.
Near the corner, with lights glowing softly, stands a beautiful new Christmas tree.
Decorations from years spent together, paint a portrait only Grandpa can see.

And he says,"Christmas again without you; it seems each year it gets harder to do. God knows someday, we'll be together, but I miss Christmas with you."

As the snowflakes dance by the window,
the tiny angel looks down from the tree at an old man, just waiting for Christmas, all alone with his memories.

In the hallway he straightens her picture; dries a tear on the edge of his sleeve.

in the morning, the family will gather,
but tonight is (spoken) Grandpa's Christmas Eve.

At the table he fills up two glasses;
makes a toast to a love rare and true.
"Merry Christmas, my darling, God only
knows, how I miss Christmas with you."

"Merry Christmas, my darling, God only knows, how I miss Christmas with you."

The instrumentation recording is tremendous, talented players and the quality of their recording is wonderful. I can hear everything clearly and it seems there are a number of requests for original Christmas songs so this could find a home.

Wow---I'm back in the Grand O Opry! Comforting country ditty. The rhythm is great!

A nice recording...real country with that pedal steel guitar.

Nice tear jerker Christmas song...your voice was up front and clear ...Instrumentation was clear and right for this song...well done

Good retro feel...like the pedal steel & overall mood & reference to Christmas

classic story, classic arrangement, can picture sitting out a snowstorm in a truck stop on Christmas Eve with only the cook, a waitress and a jukebox for company. well done.

Wow, this is really really cool! What a powerful track. This song doesn't have a lot of tricks. Just good solid musicianship. Amazing vocals! Awesome slide work!!!!

I love the rhyme I Miss. . . .Christmas...with you because it just pulls me in. Nice story. Good visuals. Accomplished exactly what you wanted it to . . . except for maybe the getting rich part. so far anyway

Great traditional country song. I'm curious as to why it showed up under Americana. Nice pedal steel. I love Christmas songs...check out my own BETHLEHEM PA!
