songwriter/singer and saxplayer, my writing style is all over the boards, from quasi jazz to accoustic to rock and pop - and all variations on the above.
On a personal level, I showcase as a singer/songwriter in the Reno/Carson City Nevada area, as well as play sax in a jazz quintet around Stockton, CA, and dabble as a horn member and singer in a blues band that performs in the same area.

Paul Sandberg bio

Beginning in his early teens, Paul has always had an ecclectic taste in music. Being a teen in late 60's allowed him to delve into all of the happening music of the day - from Brit invasion Rock, to early Metal ala Black Sabbath, while still keeping an ear to the folk/pop strains of Crosby Stills and Nash and Cat Stevens, all the while still listening to his parents' Sinatra records (the cool ones with the Les Brown arrangements).

Being a sax player, Paul also enjoyed the Brass bands Blood Sweat and Tears, Chase, and Tower of Power as well as Edgar Winter's White Trash and Earth Wind And Fire.

As the 70's progressed and disco took over, Paul gravitated towards jazz and progressive rock (Yes and Camel).

As a performing artist he has developed his own unique sax style, covering almost all genres. From the late 70's on Paul has performed as a front man, lead singer; a featured soloist, harmony vocalist; a member of a horn section, and every permutation in between as he continues to hone his craft. He has played R&B, Pop Rock, Blues, Funk, soft jazz, and Folk, and has taken the experiences of each and melded it into his songwriting.

Paul has also spent a great deal of time in and around sound studios and video editing/production houses, training his ear and his eye in an effort to better produce his musical vision.

Currently, Paul is performing the blues as a sax player and vocalist as well as gigging in a jazz quintet that features two saxes, while he continues to write and produce songs

He is married (for 40 years) with no children (by choice) and currently lives just over the Sierra's from Lake Tahoe in Nevada.

thanks, Paul for the nice review/comments on my song called "What I've Got"...I was fortunate to get a friend to play my piano parts that I had originally done...and he really did a nice smooth job...he has a more jazz background than my rockin', so it was a great mix of styles...
