As producer/co-writer, he has a veritable library of credits with songwriters Darrell Mayes (Colin James, Brickhouse), and Jhan Dudley (Long John Baldry), and he has worked with numerous other singers and bands, including Kim Kuzma, Zachary Richard, Melani Dekker, Angela Kelman, Rebel Phoenix, PRiSM, John Amenta, Heidi McCurdy, Nadine States, Rob Bracken(Brickhouse), and Nashville songwriter, Daryl Burgess, to name a few.

BC Country Music Association Award for Keyboardist of the year, 5 years in a row. He's done a plethora of tours, TV shows and theatre productions.

Steve a Gilbert Broadjam Bio

Steve's song "I Found Myself," sung by Nadine States, was chosen by Crucial Music to be included in the ABC Family series, "Lincoln Heights."

Steve has been making a creative living playing, producing and writing music for 35 years. As producer/co-writer, he has a veritable library of credits with songwriters Darrell Mayes (Colin James, Brickhouse), and Jhan Dudley (Long John Baldry), and he has worked with numerous other singers and bands, including Kim Kuzma, Zachary Richard, Melani Dekker, Angela Kelman, Rebel Phoenix, PRiSM, John Amenta, Heidi McCurdy, Nadine States, Rob Bracken(Brickhouse), and Nashville songwriter, Daryl Burgess, to name a few.

As well as being one of Vancouver's most sought-after keyboard accompanists, producer, Steve a Gilbert, spends much of his time in the studio, writing and producing songs for fun and profit.

As musical director, Steve has worked with some of Vancouver's best, including Angela Kelman (Farmer's Daughter), Kim Kuzma (the Vancouver's highest selling indie artist), and Vancouver R&B legend, Hans Staymer. As co-writer, he has a veritable library of credits with songwriters Darrell Mayes (Colin James, Brickhouse), and Jhan Dudley (Long John Baldry), and he has worked with numerous other singers and bands, including Melanie Dekker, Sean Hogan, Alibi, Rebel Phoenix, John Amenta, Heidi McCurdy, Nadine States, Darcy Deutsch, John Delaney, Rob Bracken(Brickhouse), and Nashville songwriter, Daryl Burgess, to name a few. One of Steve's most exciting projects is producing/arranging/mixing with Keep It Secret, a very cool Vancouver punk band starting to attract a nice buzz on myspace.com.

Included here on Broadjam are song and production samples from various projects and collaborations, highlighting his prodigious contributions as musician, writer, producer, and arranger.

Steve a Gilbert was born in Quebec City and grew up in New Brunswick and PEI. At 18, Steve left for Vancouver chasing his rock n�¹ roll dream. The next 15 years he honed his piano/keyboarding skills with various Rhythm and blues, funk, and country music bands, winning the BC Country Music Association Award for Keyboardist of the year, 5 years in a row. After receiving the awards, Steve gave back to the BCCMA, as Vice-President (4 years), by volunteering to coordinate their highly successful Talent-On-Tape contest. The contest was initiated to promote new artists and songwriters, by recording their collaborations for distribution to Canadian Country radio.

Steve proudly supports Broadjam, Taxi, MySpace, Soundclik, Socan and the American Federation of Musicians.

Since starting a family with locally renowned radio broadcaster Susan Sierra, in 1999, Steve has become entirely focused on song writing and recording skills. His musical legacy includes writing 1000 songs, working with 1000's of awesome musicians, 100's of keyboard sessions, and performing for 100,000's of music lovers all over the world.
