To Remind You

Story Behind The Song

This song was written out of anger at a previous band I was in. They were not taking the project seriously, I felt we had great songs and should put some work into it. When the band eventually split up, they didn't want me doing anything with the songs we had made in terms of promoting them or pushing them by making music videos or forming a new band to play. So they effectively paralyzed years of work because of their own egos.

Song Description

There are people in your life that will say that you are probably going to fail. Those people are more concerned about what they need out of life than what you need. The idea of the song is that I'm going to push harder and stronger for success in spite of you. You overstepped your bounds by doubting me, and now the line that you crossed will be there as a reminder of how wrong you are about me.

Lyrics

Verse 1
You may not think much of me at this point but reassess,
This game we played meant more than you could have imagined,
Slight of hand you authorized this act of treason,
Now we can never recognize our true accomplishments,

Pre-Chorus 1
Don't ever give this thing we made a chance to reach out,
Deep down inside I think you know what this is all about,

Chorus 1
Take me to the end,
You'll never see what this could have been,
You'll never taste what you could have been given,
To the end of the line,
You keep on working the game,
mean while the line that you crossed will remain,
to remind you,

Verse 2
Remember when you said that we were in together,
Now all I you see everything that is a danger,
If life was easy then would really mean a thing, No,
I will never be held back by all your problems,

Pre-chorus 2
Your insecurity is always gonna hold you back,
Without trust we can't this train back on it's track,

Chorus 2
Take me to the end,
You'll never see what this could have been,
You'll never taste what you could have been given,
To the end of the line,
You keep on working the game,
mean while the line that you crossed will remain,
to remind you,

Chorus 3
Take me to the end,
You'll never see what this could have been,
You'll never taste what you could have been given,
To the end of the line,
You keep on working the game,
mean while the line that you crossed will remain,
to remind you,
