Story Behind The Song
Originally written in 2006, we modernized and updated a few lyrics to make this 'unplugged' track more relevant to current times and current sounding. This is one of my favorite songs I've written.
Song Description
"Finding My Way" by Mitch Cooper is a heartfelt unplugged love song about trying to return to someone who still feels like home. With its blend of modern pop, rock, and country acoustic textures, warm male lead vocals, and rich harmonies, the song carries a reflective, sincere tone--capturing regret, hope, and the quiet determination to rebuild love the right way.

[Verse 1]
I've been carrying your name like a quiet song
Humming under everything I try to do
I told myself that I could just keep moving on
But every turn I take keeps circling back to you
[Chorus]
And as I try to find my way,
my way back home to you
I'm tracing all the broken lines until they lead me through
I'll bring you all the honest words I never got to say
If love is still the place you are, I'm finding my way,
My way back home to you.
[Verse 2]
I've seen your image, in every corner of this town
In window lights, in parking lots, in passing cars
I tried to laugh it off, then I couldn't calm it down
'Cause missing you is louder than my best defenses are
[Chorus]
And as I try to find my way,
my way back home to you
I'm tracing all the broken lines until they lead me through
I'll bring you all the honest words I never got to say
If love is still the place you are, I'm finding my way,
My way back home to you
[Bridge]
I don't need a perfect moment, I just need a chance
To look you in the eyes and take my hands off every mask
I'll show up steady, even if it takes a while
With kinder choices, with a softer smile
If you need time, I'll give it--
and I won't disappear-
If you need proof, I'll live it,
year by year
And if your heart still has a doorway left for me
I'll walk in slow, and finally breathe
[Chorus]
And as I try to find my way,
my way back home to you
I'm tracing all the broken lines until they lead me through
I'll bring you all the honest words I never got to say
If love is still the place you are, I'm finding my way-
my way, back home to you
I'm finding my way back home to you,
my way back home to you
my way back home to you
my way
back home
to You
