Story Behind The Song

Sophie's Eyes, was written while I was attending Globe University for Music Business. In one of my classes we were to choose a cause, write a song, and have a fund raiser. We were going to have a band perform and sing the song. We chose a local Charity the Jodi Lou Lung Cancer Foundation. Sadly Jodi Lou passed away from lung cancer at a young age, leaving her husband and daughter Sophie. We needed to come up with a song hook for the class, and "through Sophie's Eyes" is what I came up with. With song writing assistance from Beth Kille and words from an interview our teacher did with Jodi Lou's husband, I came up with this song. The words "I never dreamt but now I dream" are Jodi's words. The song speaks of saying good bye too soon, Sophie being their miracle and being on the "cancer coaster" It is my wish to dedicate this song to them to Jodi. They are still active raising money and doing research at UW Carbone Cancer Center for Lung Cancer Research. www.Jodilou.org
