Paradise Alley

Story Behind The Song

Paradise Alley, speaks of music being my paradise, how the song came about is an interesting story. It started at work, we had moved into a different building and there is a desire to build a culture, to cultivate a feeling of inclusion and acceptance. With that in mind we were tasked with coming up with a street name for the poles at the end of our cubicle rows. We set out for brainstorming street names, one morning I walk in and my Manager says, "welcome to paradise" the idea of paradise rolled in my mind and I began to think of how that could be a street name, maybe Paradise ave, street, or circle, but they didn't seem to quite fit, so being a Harry Potter fan, I thought of Diagon Alley, and there it was Paradise Alley was born. I began to think more, about why music is my Paradise, the ocean, one thinks of beaches and oceans as paradise, but Music really is my paradise, where I go to escape, to heal and have fun, all the while realizing that music is here for everyone, in our backyards, our neighborhoods, and I am ever the one for keeping the peace, aim to bring peace and harmony to my world.

Lyrics

Paradise Alley Lynn Gillitzer © 2016
Music is my paradise, it takes me away
It's a roll of the dice, a melodic transformation
Music is my escape, a trip through my senses
I lose myself, where love and light condenses
PRECHORUS
Mysterious mystical magic, resonating in my soul
Courses through my veins, and there I go
CHORUS
Paradise Alley, it's in your back yard
It's all around you in your neighborhood
Paradise Alley, it's where we belong
We can come together in harmony
Bring peace, love and happiness
To Paradise Alley
Music is my therapy, it heals my mind
In our biology, Worries left behind
PRECHORUS
Mysterious mystical magic, resonating in my soul
Courses through my veins, and there I go
CHORUS
Paradise Alley, it's in your back yard
It's all around you in your neighborhood
Paradise Alley, it's where we belong
We can come together in harmony
Bring peace, love and happiness
To Paradise Alley

BRIDGE
It's where Paradise Alley waits, where everyone can congregate
Move to the syncopation, powerful elation
CHORUS
Paradise Alley, it's in your back yard
It's all around you in your neighborhood
Paradise Alley, it's where we belong
We can come together in harmony
Bring peace, love and happiness
To Paradise Alley
