Story Behind The Song
Inspired partly by the "pink stinks" campaign, and all my daughter's pink clothes, I came up with the main chorus, and this then developed into a jam.
These music and lyrics were all written by myself although I did share my initial idea with some online contacts and attempt to collaborate on the song originally. As a result there are other versions of "Pink Clothes" out there containing my initial chorus:

Lyrics
Just 'cause you're a girl, they dressed you all in pink clothes with pink shoes and a pink coat
So tell me why, just 'cause I'm a boy, should I be so blue?
All dolled up with feminine perfection, with the perfect complexion
you're the princess; you're the bride
Girly fashion is the thing that you aspire to, but if it's something you desire too
much, they'll take you for a ride
To me a woman's a mysterious creature, I don't know how to reach her
She's from Venus; I'm from Mars
I am a boy who likes just staring at the ceiling
But with you I get the feeling that you're looking to the stars
And just 'cause I'm a boy, I don't wear no pink clothes. No pink shoes. No pink coat.
So tell me now, since you are a girl, do I seem blue, to you?
Every day you wear those - pink clothes, pink clothes
Pink dress and panty-hose, and pink nails on your pink toes
Ba da ba...
Just 'cause you're a girl, they dressed you all in pink clothes with pink shoes and a pink coat
So tell me why, just 'cause I'm a boy, should I be so blue?
