I LOVE the way you sing Lorraine, makes me laugh out loud......... priceless, Laaaah-raine.
I wanted to endorse you for humor as well, but it is not listed.
Thanks for your endorsements Birthe!
Hi Jon, thanks for your nice review of "Methadone Dream". Yes, haha, I'm always a bit rough around the vocal edges...character voice....so I'll never be able to match the smoothness of the musicians. I have fun writing and recording though :D
Jon, I see you got one of my Scottish lullabies sung for my grand babies, thus the softer sounds and it is a story of a woman singing to her bairn who will be a hero one day to his clan, so I guess it kind of is a warriors lullaby. The piano in this song was played on a grand piano by a friend, but the rest is synth. This was my favorite song in my first cd "Songs for my Loveys." So thanks for the listen and review
Thank you so much for your very kind review of "I Hope You Don't Think I'm Too Strange". I'm delighted you liked it so much! :)
I wish I could compose and play the music and sing my own songs. I only write the lyrics and must find composers and band and singers for every song. I was very glad to review your song.
Well, I can't play the music either and would rather have a better singer than myself to sing most of them. I'd be happy to just write the music and lyrics, I think. Although part of me does love performing! :)
And thanks also for your most generous review of Magic Peas! Too generous probably, but I'm delighted you enjoyed it. Still trying to get a better recording of that one. I have several recordings now but they all have one or two errors!
So it was another of your songs - it is great fun. I like your wit.
Hi Jon thanks for a great review and useful, specific criticism! "Pink Clothes" could be a long-lost Ray Davies tune!
Jeff, I LOVE My Bovine Valentine! Great work! :)
Many thanks for giving my strange tune a listen to.
This is fun! I am not surprised to find that you two share a liking for the same humor, and that you like the songs I like. Hurrah for wit and clever absurdities.
I Hope You Don't Think I'm Too Strange: This one was very unique. I enjoyed your delivery very much and all in all this was very original and poetic. Good work my friend.
Pink Clothes: I enjoyed this tune. It was catchy and original. Good job.
:) Brilliant! Thanks very much for listening!
Thanks for reviewing Killing Time. You're absolutely right it does need electric guitar and drums - quite badly in fact. I'd love to get a proper rock group to record it.
Well, I was just messing with ya as I realize it can be quite difficult to do so if you are not a whiz with music software or do not have a band AND studio to record in. You did a good job with what you had. Will check out some more of your stuff when I have some time. Take care!
Thanks for reviewing my song S.B.A.R.! Your feedback is greatly appreciated!
Jon, I had a good listen this morning. Pink Clothes is a great take on the gender issues, I like the last verse with the pink nails, etc. Magic Peas was a fun tune, you must be a father. I enjoy the variety in your list. Penguin is a great number! And of course I had to finish up with The Mollusk among us!
Jeff, thanks so much for listening. Yes, Penguin and Pink Clothes are two of my favourites (as they are, at least). But yes, variety is a key thing for me. That and originality. Never a full substitute for quality, musical talent and great production, but never mind. I'm fairly limited since I rely on a friend to play the guitar part, and half the time ould prefer someone else to be singing, to be honest! :)
Jeff, thanks so much for your comments about my strange song! I always have mixed feelings about that one, so glad you liked it. My other songs aren't that weird. Sorry if that disappoints you. But I always like to write original songs different from the last. Only able to make fairly rough demos for now though. Look forward to checking out your stuff soon. :)
I take my music with a slight twist. I'll be listening to more of your stuff soon. To bad yours was the only song that came up for review in the category of "Unique Comedy"
Ah, good to know. In that case I'll reclassify my song "Flaunted Vice" into that category so it might get a few more listens. Roughly fits. Btw, I loved your comments on my song, "off the beaten path, down in the shrubs and under a rock"! Very entertaining!
Really enjoy your songs (I listened to about half of them). Very original and quirky and I really like that. Dodecahedron is great, and Junk Drawer is really quite haunting.
Thanks for taking the time to listen. I really appreciate that. Dodecahedron surprised me finishing in the top 40 in the Steinburg finals. You never know when a song will strike a chord with someone. Junk Drawer I really like, on of my favorites but has not been as well received.
You're most welcome. You have many fine songs there. "No Swimming Here", "Crazy Lady" and "Seventeen Ghosts" all have something kind of mesmerising about them. Really enjoy the Youtube video of 17 Ghosts. I need to get some vids up for my songs really, but even rendering a video with a still image seems like a lot of hassle so far...
Jon, what's wrong with being strange??? Normalcy is way overrated. Thanks so much for the laugh!!!
Thanks Dianne! Glad you liked it!
Mrs. Kate, thanks for your review of "Job's Blues". Really glad you appreciated it and that it made you think etc. As to your "I hope you feel better now - praying for you" comments, I should say the song isn't really about me at all. It's about Job and his predicament, based on my reading of the book of Job in the Bible, and a cool sermon I heard on it. PS. Yes it is me, same one who did the Magic Peas song believe it or not! :)
Hi Jon - Thanks for you review of my "This is the Right Time". Much appreciated and very kind words. Good luck, Cheers - Keith
Mr Jack - thanks for your highly positive review of my song Penguin. Delighted you liked it so much. All the best. -Jon
Anytime!
Phil, thank you for reviewing my song "I Hope You Don't Think I'm Too Strange"! And apologies as well - I have mixed feelings about that one, and thought I'd not put it forward for review actually :) Glad you appreciated it though! All the best with your songs, an in the UKSC too. Getting impatient for those results now...
I think Broadjam would be a lesser place without I Hope You Don't Think I'm Too Strange. And that's not an ironic comment - I mean it. We need more comedy here!
Happy to oblige! Not sure any of my other tracks are comedy I'm afraid. Maybe you'd like "Magic Peas" but you'd either find my accent on that one LESS annoying than on I Hope You Don't Think I'm Too Strange or even MORE annoying: I went vaguely Lancashire on that one I'm afraid!!
Oh and thanks very much. You're too kind. That's not an ironic comment either. :)
Apparently the UKSC results are going to be announced some time today! :s
Thank you for the review of One Step at a Time Jon!!! It is also a personal favorite of mine. All good things to you!!! Peace, Robert Wuagneux
Hello again, Thanks for reviewing Fruit of the Spirit. Yes, it is a memory verse song. Great verse of scripture. Mrs. Kate
