Story Behind The Song
Initially a song about the death of my father. While grieving the song took a different turn into how we survive heartbreak and loss by connecting with the people who are closest to us.
Song Description
I thought about the emotional ups and downs most of us experience in every relationship in our life. The image of a former or current lover simply being present- no judgment, no questions, simply a selfless, embracing presence during a time of sadness or grief had great songwriting appeal for me.

Lyrics
SHE SAYS CAN'T LET ANYONE SEE ME THIS WAY
SHE SPENDS HER DAYS ALONE IN HER ROOM
SHE WAITS FOR HER HEART TO UNSHACKLE
SHE PRAYS THIS STORM WILL PASS ME BY SOON
CHORUS
LAY YOUR BURDENS HERE AT MY FEET
LET ME WRAP MY ARMS AROUND YOUR SORROWS
STAY HERE WITH ME I'LL HOLD YOU WHILE YOU SLEEP
WE CAN RIDE THIS ONE OUT TILL TOMORROW
VERSE 2
FOR SO LONG I'VE BEEN DRAGGIN THIS BALL AND CHAIN
IT'S BEEN A YEAR SINCE I HOWLED AT THE MOON
I PAID FOR THESE SINS WITH MY BLOOD AND MY SILVER
I PAID FOR MY SINS BY WAITING FOR YOU
CHORUS
FOR SO LONG FOR SO LONG I'VE BEEN WAITING
FOR SO LONG FOR SO LONG IN THIS ROOM WITH NO VIEW
I'LL HOLD ON HOLD ON HOLD ON
CHORUS
