I'm Shelby Snow. I hope you like my songs. I played all the parts (except drums on Lindasong) and sang all the harmonies because I live way the #$%& out in the woods and it's hard to get anyone to come out to record. partial biography
Shelby Snow - ( Fretless bass, four and six string bass, vocals, guitar, slide guitar, percussion etc...)
Began playing violin at the age of 12 (1970) under the tutelage of Bob Stern, son of legendary concert violinist Issac Stern. Bass seemed more of a fit, so began bass lessons under Stern for several months. Self taught until enrollment at College of Marin Music Dept. in 1984 (No degree, Straight A's). In recent years began playing guitar, steel guitar, percussion, and singing (more).
Shelby has performed live with Bill Kreutzmann (Grateful Dead), Carlos Santana, John Cippolina (Zero), Carol King, Lacy J. Dalton, Gene Harris, Johnny Otis, John "Marmaduke" Dawson (New Riders of the Purple Sage), Lazy Lester, Merle Saunders, John Lee Hooker Jr. and many others to round out a career of independent projects that span 35 years. Shelby's projects include opening performances for Jefferson Airplane, Booker T & the MGs, David Grisman Quintet and Stoneground to name a few.
Recording/studio projects include sessions at Fantasy Studios, Ice House Studios, Prairie Sun Studios, Hun Sound, A-Brown Sound, Pyramid Studios, among others.
Current projects include: Grease, grit and grime (Dirty Blues - Nevada City) , The Lindsay Erin Project (R&B/Rock - No. Cal.), Un-named all original project w/James Camblin (D'arcana), and a second solo CD due out spring 2010.

I've been a musician for 40 years, mostly bass guitar. I've recently added lap steel and percussion to my instrument list. I've also finally found time to write, record and produce a solo cd's worth of songs and musings, some of which can be found here at Broadjam.
