Growing up in the small town of Gloucester City New Jersey in the 1950's, David had little interest in music and more of an interest in sports, playing baseball in the spring and summer months and football in the fall and winter.
David's father, Martin Walsh instilled a love of music in David at an early age. Martin would sit for hours listening to the radio and on Sundays, watching Lawrence Welk program, the only television he though worth watching.
It wasn't until the mid-1990s that David began to compose his own music on a Roland FP-8 keyboard in his one bedroom apartment in Edgewater Park New Jersey. Writing his first 7 compositions in one year his inspiration went blank as he pondered the reasons why he could not come up with lyrics for the songs he had created.
More than ten years later, he realized that perhaps these songs were not meant to have lyrics. When David learned of a company named CDBaby he decided to release his first seven compositions on keyboard using CDBaby as the distribution arm for this endeavor.
The CD was titled Castle of Dreams. Doing all of the recording at home using an 8 track Yamaha cassette recorder, David release his EP with CDBaby in 2004. The CD did not find much success and it sat on the shelf at the CDBaby warehouse. On occasion someone would find a song and purchase a single track as an MP3 download. These occasional purchases would keep the dream alive.
In 2008 a new inspiration of song writing ushered in and David was back composing once again. Nine new songs were completed that year, from one simple comment made by someone who found the song Blue Butter Fly on David's CDBaby profile page.
Totally inspired once again David wish to create a more professional product and located a professional studio in the shadow of Philadelphia in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania Cheeks studios.
After weeks of recording all sixteen tracks on a Kawia grand piano the new cd was ready for production.
David once again selected CdBaby to distribute both the CD and MP3 down loads from the internet.
David was able to get the CD placed in a few of the local Barnes and Nobel book stores and was able to perform there as well to help promote CD sales.
Most recently since 2012 David has been promoting the new "Castle of Dreams Acoustic Solo Piano CD" on radioairplay.com with over 800 fans and growing.
In 2011 David received a fine review from Kathy Parsons - MainlyPiano.com, a noted reviewer of music for the solo piano artist.
David is currently working to promote his CD "Castle of Dreams Acoustic Solo Piano" and is striving to get his music placed in films, TV, commercials and advertising using broadjam.com.
