This song is about someone who is no longer a child, but is at a transitional age in life where they are still very reminiscent about Christmas, however knowing that the meaning and much about the holiday seems to have changed now that they are getting older. Ultimately the person makes the realization that the holiday is about so much more than just their memories of how it was in the past, consequently having the epiphany that no one should be too old for Christmas.
