The Road

This is a song that I came up with 20 some years ago and finally got around to recording. It reflects the way I felt when I met my wife 51 years ago. Thanks to the Good Lord, we are still traveling that road.

Lyrics

The Road

Please let me hold you tight,
It just feels so right to be with you.
Please don't misunderstand
When I touch your hand the way I do.

Please stay with me a while,
I'm captured by your smile, you know it's true.
Though you don't know me well,
It's not hard to tell you feel it too.

I don't know where you came from,
You just appeared it seems,
A vision sent from heaven,
The fulfillment of my dreams.

So, if I ask you now,
To understand somehow it's you I need,
And let our hearts run wild and free
And we'll see just where this road may lead.

Instrumental Break

I don't know where you came from,
You just appeared it seems,
A vision sent from heaven,
The fulfillment of my dreams.

So, if I ask you now,
To understand somehow it's you I need,
And let our hearts run wild and free
And we'll see just where this road may lead.
