Lyrics
Long Time Ago
Wyatt/Haines
when I was just a boy, I knew back then
that I would find a love that never ends
and she would be the gift sent from above
a gift so well defined, so filled with love
when I grew up I still held on, I knew
that the one I was would someday become two
each day, another day, yet I believed
a day would come that you would be with me
you're smile can make me swoon
you're light outshines the moon
and though I've never left your side
I just wanted you to know
I should have married you
a long, long time ago
I heard a voice and turned to see your face
the emptiness was gone you took it's place
no dream could ever be as good as you
my searching now is gone and all is new
now each day when I wake, you are my smile
every moment is a treasure all the while
I don't wander any more or dream in blue
I have found my dream come true in you
you're smile can make me swoon
you're light outshines the moon
and though I've never left your side
I just wanted you to know
I should have married you
a long, long time ago
a long, long time ago
now every day is free and skies are blue
you hold my heart, my world is whole and new
and all I ever, ever want and hope to do
is to be, just be, with you
you're smile can make me swoon
you're light outshines the moon
and though I've never left your side
I just wanted you to know
I should have married you
a long, long time ago
and when I look into your eyes I know
I should have married you
a long, long time ago
