Story Behind The Song
I live in near downtown and near Catholic Charities and Salvation army, so there are alot of homeless people and I just started thinking, there go I, but for the grace of God. Out popped this song.
Song Description
It is a celebration of community and unity. It uses the analogy of all of us being in the same boat and how we can work together to build a boat. Also it takes more than one person to row a boat or to hoe a field and we must work together and not see ourselves as above others who have less.

Lyrics
WE?RE ALL IN THIS TOGEHTHER
copyright ? 2004
We?re all in this together
No man for himself
And if we work together
We can build ourselves a boat
And sail across the ocean
Keep ourselves afloat
If we work together
We can build ourselves a boat
CHORUS
Oh shake, rattle and a roll
Everybody?s got a row to hoe
Shake rattle and a? row
Everybody?s got a boat to row
Let every woman child and man
Pull their weight in cotton
Tend the fields like a newborn child
Let no one be forgotten.
As we walk across this promised land
Let no field lie rotten
Let every woman, child and man
Pull their weight in cotton.
CHORUS
Now some folks cross this land
Ain?t got a can to spit in
Lie awake at night
Just?a wonderin? if this is livin?
But one thing is for certain
If you shake us all together
Roll us out like dice
We all come out forgiven
