Story Behind The Song
The song was inspired by my dear Mama, who passed away in 2010 (God rest her sweet soul). She threw this phrase at me - "You know, sometimes it snows in April" - during the course of a normal everyday conversation that she and I were having about the weather. At the time, I thought to myself, "Wow, great song title."

Lyrics
Mama has always listened
ever since I can remember
She knows when
somethings missing
And I always surrender
I share with her my grief
Tears they fill her eyes
Most times we're cheek to cheek
When she tenderly replies
Sometimes it snows in April
Flowers have to wait
To break on through
Sometimes it snows in April
But in time sunshine
Will bring forth every bloom
I had a friend in high school
That boy was a sight
No matter where or when
He was ready for a fight
Back then it was all a game
He fought just for fun
You know, he died
On a cold spring day
Taking up for someone
Sometimes it snows in April
Flowers have to wait
To break on through
Sometimes it snows in April
But in time sunshine
Will bring forth every bloom
Don't be afraid of taking chances
Nothing can change what's
meant to be
These precious days we
take for granted
Are miracles within our reach
When this world has made
you weak
And you feel you're giving in
Remember life is short
But time will never end
And though you may
sometimes fear
Your very last breath
Have faith in God and He
Will see you pass the test
Sometimes it snows in April
Flowers have to wait
To break on through
Sometimes it snows in April
But in time sunshine
Will bring forth every bloom
Look up into the light
And reach out with all your might
Embrace a bright new sky
Dark days are all behind
Look up into the light
And reach out with all your might
Embrace a bright new sky
Just look at that sun rising
Just look at that sun rising
Hey, look at that sun rising
Look up into the light
