Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song while exploring feelings of insecurity. Men are supposed to be confident, or at least portray confidence, but sometimes it's not so easy. This song was born from every romantic situation I've ever found myself in, where I was less than confident of the outcome. Whether it was a puppy love crush I had on some girl as a kid, or a real relationship much later in life, as I was working up the courage to ask my current wife to marry me. Sometimes I find that I just 'can't find the words'!
Song Description
Emotionally, typically men are supposed to stay in their lane, so to speak. This song speaks to those often buried feelings that men go through, which are hard to speak about, or to write about. To be vulnerable, fearful, or reticent, even in a romantic way, are not considered in most circles to be "manly" things. But they are human things, which men nonetheless experience at times.

Lyrics
I want to get past your eyes
Try and find what's in your mind
I want to hide in your smile
Get to know you deep inside
Cause beauty's not always only skin deep
And secrets aren't always better to keep
I've got so much to say
I need to tell you now
But I can't find the words
Can't fight my fear
I hold my breath every time you are near
Can't get the nerve
Can't play the part
You hold the key to this silent heart
My love so desperately needs to be heard
But I can't find the words
If I made you my wife
Baby we could climb so high
Edge of heaven in sight- we would fly
Let our love-light shine
Cause marriage is always taking a leap
And love is for always- faith is the key
I've got so much to say
I need to tell you now
But I can't find the words
Can't fight my fear
I hold my breath every time you are near
Can't get the nerve
Can't play the part
You hold the key to this silent heart
My love so desperately needs to be heard
But I can't find the words
You say the things that make me
want to wake up to your face
shining in the morning light
One whispered word
just turns my head around
You move me
But I can't find the words
Can't fight my fear
I hold my breath every time you are near
Can't get the nerve
Can't play the part
You hold the key to this silent heart
My love so desperately needs to be heard
But I can't find the words
No I can't find the words
No I can't find the words
