I'm Sorry

Song Length 3:29 Genre Blues - General

Lyrics

I'm Sorry That I Disappointed You

My parents said to go to school
Get a PhD
My football coach said cross that line
and make a big TD
My wife told me to get a job
Pay the bills as they come due
....I'm sorry, so damn sorry that I disappointed you.

My boss told me to pick it up
or else I'd have to go
My bank refused another loan
because my credit didn't grow
My children said our car's too old
That we needed something new
....I'm sorry, so damn sorry that I disappointed you

I'm leaving town tomorrow
On a Greyhound Bus I'll be
I'll be in Albuquerque
By 11:23
There's nothing left
Of what was once
My pride and dignity
....I'm sorry, so damn sorry that I disappointed me

My teacher said to study hard
and try to make a C
My brother said wear Army "green"
and be all that you can be
My doctor said to kill the smokes
Cause you know what they will do
....I'm so sorry, so damn sorry that I disappointed you

Leavin' town tomorrow
On a Greyhound Bus I'll be
I'll be in Albuquerque
By 11:23
There's nothing left
Of what was once
My pride and dignity....I'm sorry, so damn sorry that I disappointed me
Might sit around here all day long
Watching "Wheel" upon the tube
I've got no damn idea
Of what I ought to do
Maybe after Albuquerque
I'll fly to Katmandu
I'm sorry, so damn sorry that I disappointed you

Bit off more than I could chew
But I didn't have a clue
I'm sorry, so damn sorry I disappointed you

Charles Edmund Carter wails the blues!

This is a good live line dance type song. The style is a country line dance or what was once called a Stroll dance. There are many other songs in the same style or genera where a professional musician would love to play the simple progressions when his/her shinning part comes up during the instrumental break. "I'm Sorry" is a good title as it all fits with the story line for self disappointment which is fun for the bluesy style in a light way. Thank you for allowing me to review your originals songs and look forward to hearing more in the future.
