Song Description
Jewnoon al Mizmar means the crazy mizmar. The mizmar is the traditional Arabic / North African double reeded folkloric horn. This Tribal instrumental piece features many mizmars and traditional drums performed on traditional Middle Eastern / North African rhythms.
This acoustic instrumental tune has many parts to it. It starts with a multi mizmar taqsim (improvisational intro). Then the many drummers enter in at a medium slow tempo playing a slow Maksoum rhythm into a Malfoof rhythm and switch back and forth between the two rhythms. From there it climbs into a North African 6/8 rhythm which slowly picks up in tempo. At this point you can see and feel the energy as the many screaming horns and driving drums build up into an intense crescendo. At that point the drummers switch back to a fast Maksoum rhythm and continue to climb as they ascend into an even faster 2/4 Ayoob rhythm. At this point everyone reaches a wild and crazy peak.
