Story Behind The Song

I have to confess to having had a row with a friend (we're still friends!) and slamming the door in my annoyance. The line 'Door slams, no one cries' popped into my head as a result, and the song was born. I wanted it to be a positive slant on a breaking-up theme--so the singer is looking forward to having her freedom back--'Whole world's mine, I feel fine, this is goodbye!'

Song Description

The singer has found out her lover has been cheating on her and realises now why their relationship has been falling apart. She's had enough of that and his controlling ways and is throwing him out for good, telling him, 'This is goodbye!' and is looking forward to having her freedom back.
