Lyrics
My Sun Won't Want to Shine
(1992)
by Brian Quigley
I get up every morning, alone in an empty bed,
Wondering where you were last night, and why I lost my head.
And then I ask myself, who can I be today?
Try to help me forget about you, any old way I can.
'Cause I know you're gone for good, won't be no second chance.
But every time I start to think of you, my sun won't want to shine.
Chorus:
You've got me jumping through hoops of fire.
How do you do those things you do?
You've never ever been good to me,
But your lovin' always brought me to my knees.
Somebody's gotta tell me why
Every time I see you it rains even when the sky is blue.
I go out every evening without any place to go,
Hoping maybe I'll run into you, though I'm better off alone.
Night after night, the street becomes a lonely place.
Lovers down on the boulevard, man, I got nowheres to hide.
Sometimes I think I see you when I'm looking through a crowd.
I start to smile and take a step your way, but end up two steps behind.
[Chorus]
This old heart of mine, been broken five hundred times.
This one just like the first time, now I'm sure it won't be the last.
Then suddenly the daylight comes, blowing my blues away.
If I should start to think of you, my sun won't want to shine.
[Chorus]
