Soldier casualty
Song Description
Trying to give a voice to countless parents that have had to come to grips with the death of their child- a member of the military. The parents read a letter written that it's hope would never be read as the return home is a happy one. Sadly it isn't. Letter is written as more of a duty and precaution no thought of the danger and potential results. Valor, bravery, words of comfort for the parents mourning an inescapable truth.

Lyrics
"The Letter"
Verse
I hear footsteps on my porch
There's a man in uniform
3 knocks at the door
Yeah I know what he's here for
Your Mama came into the room
and We all heard the news
He gave us a salute
In his left hand was a letter from you (that said)
CHORUS
I hope you never have to read what I'm writing
But if you do it means that I'm done fighting
You taught me how to be strong and carry on
Have no regrets and take a stand
Thank you for making me the man I am
I know one day we'll reunite and be together
But if you find yourself missing me
Just read this letter
Verse
Cryin' for the child I once held
That grew up in a blink
From climbin' up trees to standin' on a wing
Storybook ending why's it gotta be this way
Bugle playin' "taps" today
Standin' by your grave
I hear the final note
Re-read the letter you wrote.
Repeat Chorus
Bridge
Your moma's dressed in black holdin' a flag
I'd give all I have just to get you back
Repeat Chorus
