Story Behind The Song
Children of St. Jude's suffer and many times die. They are innocent, pure, and just want to get better, go home, play with friends, live their life. This song tells of the suffering of child and parent. Sadly the childs' suffering ends while (in this case) the mother carries an unimaginable sense of loss. Helpless to prevent and knowing what the future will be she tries to be strong for her child. Solidarity with others cannot make up for the loss, but the feeling may be shared and for a few minutes ease the pain.

Lyrics
Verse1
My angel lies in bed
Bandana on a small head.
Eyes look up and I hear
When will I go home
I just wanna know
Verse2
Hiding the truth I know
Holding back tears I wanna cry
Words stick in my throat
I say maybe tomorrow
Chorus
Maybe tomorrow
Those words come back to me
Every moment I believe
My angel will be with me
Verse 3
I look around at crayon drawings
On a long white string
Smiley faces word balloons
Crooked letters spell get well soon
Verse 4
My angel has a dream
No more pain just light
Lots of time to run and play
No worries now 'cause I'm alright
Repeat Chorus
Bridge
My angel lies in bed
Bandana on a small head
Lean in for a kiss
I hear a whisper
When will I go home
Chorus
Maybe tomorrow
Those words come back to me
Every moment I believe
My angel will be with me
Chorus
Maybe tomorrow
Those words come back to me
My heart believes
My angel is here with me
Here with me
