Written and recorded for my dad expressing sadness and regret. A son that wishes he could change the past.
Song Description
My dad was in a hospital with heart failure. Despite his condition he sang "Happy Birthday" the best he could to his sister that had called by telephone. My brother recorded this on his cellular telephone and showed the video to me after the fact. I felt stunned when I saw it and was immediately inspired to write the lyric about that moment. Heartfelt, regret, and a tribute to my dad in the only way I know.
