Story Behind The Song
Trying to give a voice those who cannot or dare not speak out. Hoping the song will trigger action by witnesses and reassurance that someone knows this is wrong, the irreparable harm must be stopped.
Song Description
Story of a little one- a girl- living in a world where abuse happens every day. Her plight personified and the outreach to make the hurt stop to everyone and anyone real or ethereal. Almost a prayer. Sadly there is no answer unless those hearing this song take action to eliminate this senseless and heinous scourge affecting innocent victims. I was told the subject of this song could be the sister to Suzanne Vega's Luka.

Lyrics
"Talk to the wind"
Crippled by fear
She swallows her tears
Cries and tries to hold on
Hope nearly gone
String on her finger
Reminds her of a dream
Smiles love sunny days
The world she lives in returns again she trembles and prays
Chorus
Don't let them hurt me
Please make it end
World don't see
What's happening to me
I've got nowhere to hide
Afraid all the time
No one will listen
I can only talk to the wind
Verse
Clothes are worn
Same ones every day
Hide the scars of a secret storm
She looks away
Hopes no one sees the shame
Voice in her head cries out
I'm tired and afraid
Won't you help me before it's too late
Repeat Chorus
Bridge
Night after night there's a little one
Wonderin' if better days will come
Stares out the window
Cries on her pillow
Repeat Chorus
