Born in Hinesville, Georgia, Jackson, age 28, grew up just outside Savannah. Son of a Preacher and a devoted mother, he was number two out of six siblings, his musical influences were as broad as gospel music to Tupac and Master P. The same year Ludacris recorded the theme to the video game Madden NFL 2000 Scarface, little known artist John Jackson, age 17, had just completed his third album, working odd jobs and selling CD's out of the trunk of his car. A self-proclaimed entertainer since the age of 4, the talented Mr. Jackson plays piano, bass guitar and drums all by ear. Jackson had some early success in his musical career opening for gospel singer J Moss and performing in local coffee shops.
Jackson's inspirational life has been filled with tragedy and hardship, growing up in the projects and experiencing the loss of a son, Josiah, just 2 hours after he was born. His music gives the fans inspiration that you can overcome any obstacle life can throw in front of you. Happily married, he is the proud papa of a beautiful 2 year old daughter, Iyanna Nicole and a new born on the way, Joniah Danielle. Jon Jon says, "My music is inspirational like that of Lyfe Jennings. I want to be the artist whose voice redirects young minds from negative thoughts to positive thoughts. I came from the projects where clerks stopped me in the store to check my receipts. I want to be an interceptor for these kids. Show them "Nothing's Impossible and your dreams can become a reality."
Three words to describe this new artist, "quiet, adventurous and spontaneous," as evidenced in his music. Jackson says, "If it weren't for my music, I would be a kids' counselor." Fortunately "hip hop" music fans will have some new tunes to listen to on their iPods this spring, with the soulful messaging and heartfelt lyrics especially in the #1 single release," Just Fly'n." This first single on the album is reminiscent of the early beat sequences found when hip hop music was at its peak. The inspirational lyrics have created inquiries already for product endorsement, television commercials, sport sponsorships from ESPN and some independent production houses for new films to be released in 2012.
