Hey Julia, thanks for the hand up! Listened to all your stuff. 'Ancient History Instrumental' is my song as i'm a guitar guy. Good guitar work and nice theme. It's cool to just chill with your music at Starbucks on your headphones to drown out the obscure drivel they have playing. If only we could plug in to cut off the current playlist to pipe what "we" the customer is listening to and obviously likes... Cheers, Mike
Thanks Mike. Don't know how u found me but I'm glad you enjoyed listening to these old songs!

Hey Julia - Thanks and always good to hear from you! It's all about having fun. Of course it's nice to one day have a song that we worked and performed on together but the really important part is enjoying the creative process :)
Checked out "Lost in the Middle." Great cut!
Thanks Julia :) Glad you liked it.
Hi Ken thanks a lot for the review of my song "Seein U." Your suggestion is an interesting one! Cheers, Julia FOley
Really like your music Carrie...lovely voice also...
Thank you Julia! Thanks for listening. And congratulations on your excellent work here on Broadjam! Best, Carrie
Hi Julie-I listened to "Promise."Very cool...love the vibe, and love your voice...
Nils I did not receive anything yet...make sure you send to jjfoley1@msn.com. I checked my junk folder also...nothing there...
Hmm, I usually don't have issues mailing anyone. I just sent another message, this time without attachment. Once you get that we'll have to see if it has to do with the mp3.
are you making sure to put the number 1 after jjfoley? I still didn't receive...
Yeah, I usually just copy and paste to avoid any typos. jjfoley1@msn.com. Anyway, I used my other email to try and send to you. nils.rurack@sbcglobal.net instead of nils@nilsrurack.com. Let me know if you get it there and I'll resend the music.
I sent you an email and it said delivery failed. Maybe your server is down?
I responded to the one I received at nils@nilsrurack.com. I saw how the sbc one failed with "." between sbc and global. Yes you would get that one back...Let me know if you get my reply. I'm getting tired of stuff not working right. grrr.
sent the email with song as a reply. Hopefully this is it in terms of email trouble.
I'll let you know..
Nils...maybe you could Transmit the mp3 here...on Bjam...
Ian, the email gods are smiling again!
Kewll...
You go girrrlll!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love "The Deadly Game." Is that you singing? Also, good soundtrack material IMO.
Hi Julia! Thank you. No, I can't sing. If I could there would be a lot more vocal material on my page...It's actually PGO, one of my collaborators I might at bjam.
It's cool...did I tell you it reminds me of Sass Jordan's band from the 90's...huge compliment...one of my faves of all time!
Hi Julia, I just listened to your wonderful music. Here is my only constructive criticism: you're selling yourself short by calling ancient history a "techno mix"...and I'm pretty sure the techno community would come after you if you played this at a house party... I really enjoy your variety! Nils
Thanks for the feedback Nils...what category would you put that song in? I hate the category thing...
I guess I had that one coming, didn't I? I personally believe it's important to categorize yourself although I usually fail at it and show too much variety to be successful in any one genre. In this particular case it is really difficult but I would go with Electronic and Unique: You have a Hip Hop beat but no rap. You have an electronic beat and some pads but also real instruments. And of course you have beautiful vocals. Maybe you should just call it adult alternative? Sorry, j/k. Nils
Well thanks for the input Nils...it points up the category problem, doesn't it? Maybe there should be an "eclectic" category?
By the way a friend of mine submitted his album for review to TAXI some years ago and they gave him very high marks, saying there was nothing he could do to improve upon it...at the same time they declined to forward him for any opportunities, because all of the buyers were looking for music that sounded like someone else...so pathetic!
I like the eclectic category! I think you're touching on one of the big issues in today's music business: The business side needs to succeed and therefore works with a formula. Also, the business side influences the market as much as they can to push the formula and make money. I always hope there is this one person that is listening and will take a risk to push an independent artist forward and great artists like you meet your own risk taker at some point.
Interestingly, a lot of what I listen to are unsigned artists...for this very reason...there's a lot of good stuff here at Broadjam I find...I will check out your songs...you have a lot of them...which are the ones you recommend I hear?
That's a nice loaded question. It depends on what genre you'd like to hear...I would stay away from most of the Hard Rock/Heavy Metal ones except the ones ft others. The Blues Rock is pretty cool and in general the collaborations IMHO.
Been checkin out some of your stuff...really tight playing! Liking it! Very Satriani-esque...I actually like the Hard Rock...some of it reminds me of Sass's Jordan's L.A. band from the 90's which is huge compliment. Hers was one of my dream bands...are you familiar with her work?
Thanks for your kind words. I wasn't familiar with her work but now I am and I'm glad you told me about her! If you ever want to get in touch with your inner Sass give me a shout. I would love to write and record something in that direction. Nils
I would love to take you up on that! i am working on some new material now...Listen to her album Rats...it will knock your socks off.
I would be honored. Give me a few days to present you with a music bed and you can make up vocal melodies and lyrics.
I was trying to send you a message but bjam showed me an error. Let's do it this way: Hi Julia, if you want to send me your email address I can send you a track to see if it inspires you. I was listening to one of my recent songs today and I thought that might actually work. I'm curious to see what you think. It's probably a little more modern than Sass Jordan but has potential. After listening to Sass and your repertoire I'm inspired and in the process of writing a couple of songs that are more tailored. Talk soon, Nils
jjfoley1@msn.com thanks! look forward to hearing it Nils...
Just don't expect me to ever come close to Sass! She is everything I wish I could be!
Hi Julia, I sent you an email yesterday with a song and a few words. Let me know if you received it. I've got the first Sassy tune almost ready.
I love your music, writing and your amazing unique voice!! Very smooth.
