Hello Jacqueline, Thank you for reaching out, and seriously, I'm just a normal guy that loves music. But thank you, it warms my heart to hear people say things like that. Regarding your own work. I've learned that once an artist hits a certain level of quality, it becomes a matter of taste, and anything I could suggest should be taken with a grain of salt once you hit that level of polish. I love your power and presence, it's big and commanding. Something a lot of vocalist lack, but not here, by the end of your production you're blowing full guns into the night and it's absolutely lovely. If I were you're producer though, I might make a few suggestions. The first would be "Don't be afraid to go high." While you were singing, you'd go low in your tone, when often, I wanted you to go high. This is a singing style thing, being by the end, you finally do go high and I finally get my wish in all its glory. Regarding the arrangement's mix, it had a lot of good qualities musically, but sonically I don't feel like your instruments were always as big (and highlighted) as they should have been. I like to hear the melodies wrap a vocalist up like a warm blanket, this mix just didn't do that, it really kind of downplayed those performances in ways I just would have never allowed in one of my own mixes. A prime observation I made was on the drum kit. I wanted that to slam in with level of power that your vocals had... It didn't though. It was all just kind of lingering in the background, when really, it should have been slamming me right in the gut with it's intensity. Lastly, your vocals have an unusually clean sound for most indies, and this is really good, but when you got really loud toward the end I felt like all that energy might have distorted your take a little bit. I could hear it as you really went in for the kill. The performance in that spot was solid, I just wish that distortion in the take didn't distract me as I was really getting into the song. It was brief, but the fact it happened at the climax didn't let it go un-noticed. The last suggestion for improvement I could make is on your stereo stage and creating a space in your mix. I felt like your vocals got a lot of love but your instrumentation and space didn't get that same love. If you could manage to highlight your musical performances in the same way that you've highlighted your vocal performance, it would really go far to perfecting this wonderful piece of work. I hope it is all useful, and again, thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate your taking interest and spending time on my profile. Best: N

BFatal, The privilege is mine. Any soul that takes time out of their busy lives to connect, listen, and hang out is certainly a feather in my own cap, so thank you. The play count is what it is. I've been pushing my craft relentlessly for years now. The funny part is I've burned my profile to the ground a few times while re-inventing myself, had I not... Those plays would easily be three times the amount they are today. To be honest though, a lot of those plays have come through aggressive shopping, competing in competitions like the 6 Pack, and blind luck. If I were to give any advice I'd suggest getting involved with the review system (and playing nice, don't let your honesty get the better of you, many artists aren't interested in negative criticism without a little bedside manor.) If you do this, you'll find your connections will grow quickly and people will warm up to your own work if you play your cards right. I'm going to jump in here and agree/disgree with Mr. Jones. I thought, as Nathaniel did, that your vocals are outstanding. I will disagree with him on the 'go high' aspect, i thought you went there plenty. I will wholeheartedly agree that you should kick up the drums. That cymbal splash at 1:34 would be a great place to start a nice bulid, reaching it's peak volume (louder than what you have) at the 2:00 mark. they should absolutely be more prominent during the following chorus. The rest of the way, that are almost sufficient. Almost. All in all, it it a beautiful song with a Great vocal performance.
