Hey Frank...hope all is good with you!!...I just listened to your tune "CLASSICAL CRUISE"....beautiful composition...5/5 because nothing higher....lol...I've been listening to alot in the classical genre lately...I had extensive tutoring in classical music as a young teenager...loved it then...appreciate it even more now. The classical training definitely had a major impact on how I developed my style and how I play...even if it's in a progressive nature! Gotta love this stuff! It rules...pretty much like you!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and listening... and I really appreciate the 5 Stars!

Yeah, I really like classical music as well. Although I'm self-taught, I really have been influenced from a variety of the "mainstream" classical composers... Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, etc.

I've got a few other classical pieces peppered throughout my Broadjam stuff; Classical Cruise is an obvious one. One Red Rose Interlude is another where I attempted a classical approach to that piece.

I'll drop by your page for a new listen... it's a been a minute since I was there.

Thanks again and have a great one!!

Frank

Just had a listen to WAY TOO LONG... love it! The motifs, changes and melodies are really nice... thoughtful with a bit of mystery to them. I especially liked the production and vocal on this one... and the organ solo... very nice! Ya just don't hear those much anymore... so thanks for that!!

5 Stars and Playlist add from me! Great tune!!

Frank

Hi Rex,

Thanks again!

Hi Sandra and thanks for reviewing my song "Adam and the Ant".

I appreciate you taking the time to listen and provide your perspectives. I'm guessing/hoping the low scores are related to your preference in writing/recording methodology as opposed to song structure and composition.

While I understand and relate to your sentiment that, "... it still matters to me to hear music originating (at least mostly) from actual instruments, played by actual people. I just was not hearing that. But any way that anyone makes music is valid..." please consider that I do play most all of the parts on my songs (usually playing the drum parts as well), and I do consider my keyboards actual instruments. For Adam and the Ant, I did actually play all the parts.

In an ideal world I'd have access to musicians that were willing and able to record original songs on a moment's notice and do so for the love of creating/recording. The reality for me (and many other writers/musicians) just isn't that way. I don't have the budget to hire "actual people" to learn, play, record my songs with me.

So as opposed to not writing/recording the songs I have in my head, I opt to do the next best thing and record them by laying the arts myself.

Please consider this when reviewing critiquing artists/songs.

While I'm here I'll have a listen to some of your music.

Thanks again for taking the time to listen.

Be and stay well,
Frank

Hi, Frank!
Sorry it's taken a while to get back to you. "Adam and the Ant" is a good, fun song and you absolutely understand how song structure works! And yes, playing keyboards IS real music (not my strong suit). I think that you are right and you raised some good points. I think that maybe I had some "listening fatigue" (reviewed a rocker just before "Adam" and before that, some super autotuned pop tunes). So, my apologies. You did deserve a better review.

Absolutely no worries Sandra. I've been on Broadjam for a while, and I've learned (via open/honest feedback from various members) how I can improve all aspects of my passion for music... from the writing/recording of it, to the listening and critiquing of it.

You've written/recorded some really great music and I look forward to listening to more of it.

Thanks and as always... be and stay well,
Frank

Thank you Chet Nichols for a perfect score on "Get Right"...It was mixed and mastered @ BanzaiWag studio in Central Ca.Written by Malin and Vernon in 2022 with political overtones...And playing all over the world! Yet, this is the only review for many months.

Hey Marvin,
Thanks for the review on my Christmas Song "Mistletoe Means Kiss".

Grateful for the high scores... glad you liked it!!

Hi Marvin,
Thanks for the review of "Write Your Letters". I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment.

Hi again Randy,
Looks like Broadjam cued up a couple of mine for you. Thanks for listening to and reviewing "Sweet Dixie Bride". That's quite an old one... back when I was recording on a Fostex 8 Track with Ensoniq stuff and an E-mu Proteus! The drums are a Roland R8... I used to love "playing drums" on that thing! There are a few old instrumentals on my Broadjam page from that era... Adam and The Ant, Hamilton's Soft Shoe, Sammy's Groove Shop, Night Becomes Her... kinda fun to keep those around for posterity's sake.

Thanks again for taking the time to listen and provide meaningful comments.

Frank

Hi Randy,
Thanks so much for taking the time to review my song "Mom's Journey Home". I really do appreciate your thoughtful and useful perspectives/comments.

One day I'll have to take the time to re-record that one using the better sound library that I have today. alas though, I've lost the original Pro Tools session, so I'd have to start from scratch... which isn't necessarily a bad thing. ;)

That's something that I am so impressed with in your pieces (see previous comment/question below) ... the detailing/articulations in your orchestral tracks/performances.

Thanks again for the review.

Frank

Hi Tony,
Thank you so much for the 5 stars on both "Jungle Waltz" and "Walk It Back (Instrumental Version)".

I really do appreciate you taking the me to browse the songs and listen.

Thanks again and be well!

Hey Frank..you are one of the best diversified music writers out there..I really appreciate your skill and talent....I'm a fan!!!..

Thanks so much TK! I tend to just write whatever I'm feeling at the time.

I just listened to your song DONT MATTER ANYWAY... very cool song... intense, and I like the piano motif at the start that seems predictable, but ends up being a nice, syncopated backdrop that adds a bit of tension and dissonance.

5 Stars and a playlist add from me on that one!

Hey Frank....thanx so much for the 5/5 rating on "DON'T MATTER ANYWAY"....LOL....an old tune done a very long time ago before we were getting our act together....actually not one of my favorites ...but thank you "ANYWAY"....LOL!! I dropped off the radar for a few days due to all kinds of tests I need to have.......this back issue is definitely a real downer!...Keep Rocking my man!!

Somehow, tonight I wound up listening to "Mom's Journey Home", and it just crippled me Frank. Yesterday I lost my college fraternity brother from SAE, from 50 years ago! I sat around noodeling for the right song--but-NOPE! Then I heard this---it was like an angel sent it! Exactly what I prayed for! This is one of the most beautiful-explosive songs I have ever heard! With your permission I will send this to Billy's wife and three daughters--tomorrow! Congratulations on a fine piece of art And Beauty! Pat

I'm so sorry for your loss Pat, but am so very grateful that "Mom's Journey Home" helps at this time.

Absolutely you have my permission to share it!

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you on this too... be and stay well.

Frank

Thanks for another review. This time it was a short piece "Speed Case :60"... written/recorded for a licensing opportunity that alas, I didn't get.

I appreciate you listening and reviewing it!

Frank

Thank you so much for the review and the scores/rating of our song "I Love You All The Darkness In The Night". That's one of those songs that we just needed to do... it was written and recorded with the sole intention for my wife Jane to send to her son Wayne.

I liked it so much that I posted it to Broadjam to make it more accessible... and Jane's message seemed to resonate with other Moms out there.

Jane was so so nervous when she recorded/sang that song, but I think she did a great job. She even came up with the harmonies and backing vocals!

Thanks again for taking the time to listen to it and review it.

I appreciate you taking the time to listen!

Hey TK,
Thanks for the 5 Star rating on "Second Skin". That was a fun one to do. It actually has lyrics, but the only lyrical version I ever recorded was on a Fostex 8 Track that got lost many a late-night-session ago!

Thanks again for taking the time to browse my collection and have a listen!! I'll do the same for you while I'm here.

Be and stay well,
Frank

Thanks for the review of "One Red Rose Interlude". It's a short one meant for TV/Film, Video or even Voiceover production. As you mentioned, I hope it does indeed find a home one day! :)

Thanks again,

Hi Jeana,
THANK YOU so much for that! Yes, things are going well, great start to 2024! I hope all is going well for you too!

I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed listening to our Christmas music. I really appreciate you taking the time to have a listen... I know that original Christmas music take a certain "mindset" to enjoy and/or appreciate.

I'll stop by your Broadjam page over the weekend and listen to more of your music. If there's any song(s) in particular that you'd like me to check out, please let me know.

Have a great day and weekend!

Frank

Hey Frankie!

Thanks for the great review of the INSTRUMENTAL VERSION of my song, "Bernadelle". At one time it won the "Best Song Contest at Broadjam"! Glad you like the "the band sound"! But, here is a secret, I played all the instruments and made it sound "live", something I am good at. That said, PLEASE seek out the version on Broadjam with LYRICS. It is a fun song, I wrote back a couple years ago. It is dedicated to my grade-school music teacher who was a Catholic nun at school. She was a brilliant teacher and instrumentalist. I would often wonder what she would have done with her life had she not dedicated herself to being a devout nun. As I pondered this, I envisioned her living on a sailboat docked in the River Seine in Paris and that the boat was filled with instruments and the tools to paint pictures. Nice image, eh. Fun story. I truly loved Sister Bernadelle and oddly enough, I have found it almost impossible to find another woman named Bernadelle on the Internet. She was truly "One-In-9-Billion".... Best to you!

Hi again Randy,
I just listened to your song "The Long Train Ride Home". Beautifully crafted and executed piece! Your nuancing/voicing is extraordinary, and the tasteful use of the glides is organic and convincing.

I was wondering, what are you using for your strings and solo violin?

Very well done!

Frank

Hi Randy,
Thanks for reviewing my song "John's New England Fall". I really appreciate you taking the time to listen and to provide meaningful feedback. It's nice to know that someone has really listened to a piece... it's reflected in the detail of their comments.

That's an older piece. As you noted, it could really benefit from a refreshed production/mastering. Unfortunately, I'm not confident that I have the original Pro Tools session... I lost a bunch of files years ago during a computer crash/rebuild.

Nonetheless, thanks again for the review! While I'm here I'll check out some of your music.

Be and stay well,
Frank

Hi Frank, Paul here. You have a real great mix of songs and styles here with some really great arrangements! Love the piano on 'Mom's Journey Home'!! Thanks also for your recent support! Stay safe all and happy music making!
