hey carlene--i was down in fort meyers a few day ago-i thought of you--one of my best friends committed suicide last summer--i was in shock and really bummed out--we gotta just keep going forward and deal with the grief---your song touched me--i don't want to be who i am/your friend--joe.
Oh so sorry about your friend. One of mine did the same thing --- I think it was last year. I Don't Want to Be Who I Am actually happened to the daughter of the co-writer o the song. Really sad. What was your friend's name? Not Larry, by any chance?

Hi, Thanks for the review and especially the Baez reference. Probably obvious that I sang everything she ever did, from 1963 to early 1970s. I even managed to develop the same vibrato, which some people don't like! Appreciate the kind words.

Hi Kate, I love singing at festivals, too, even though I haven't done it yet! Is there a master list somewhere that tells when they are coming up and how you get to be on their stage? Carlene
Yes there are festival websites. If you google it you can find it. I can't remember right offhand but USAFestivals.com or something like that. The best way is to keep your eye on the newspapers for local festivals. By the time you read about it, they have probably already booked for this year, but find out who is in charge and when they do the booking, and contact them for the next year. Hope this helps! Mrs. Kate PS Often festival performance fees are low but they are great exposure and often lead to other gigs. Also they look good on your resume!
