Andrew, You have listened to some of my music in the past. I have recently added an album to BJ. When you have the time, please have a listen. Thanks, Norb Studelska
Great rock tune Andrew, on your "Red" performance; fine vocals and guitar! All the best to you!
I have been released from the hospital and am currently living in a Group home in Charlottesville, VA getting my life back together. My dad and I published an Album called "Code Purple - Andrew Neil" which includes 11 of the 70 songs I wrote and recorded while hospitalized at Western State Hospital. It is available at CD Baby via digital download and CD. We also have 180 gr vinyl available in limited numbers. Contact me if interested in obtaining a copy. I wish you all a very Happy New Year filled with music and love. Peace to you. Sincerely, Andrew Neil

I can write again...I have access to a guitar from the library here at the hospital. I do not have much time I can spend on the internet. But I wanted to thank you for the prayers and well wishes. I will get out of here and start a band.
Prayers are continuing for healing and much success on your journey .... Keep up the wonderful and inspiring writing , Andrew :)
What's the use? No one even cares. Its all about the money...not the music really. The big money is all about making money at the expense of the artist. The artists are the modern day slaves to the money grubbing producers. Its all about commercialism...its all about the songwriting formula. There is no formula to true art. Peace to you.
no matter how small your room is; no matter how small your physical world; or the limits that might be placed upon your physical freedom; you, Mister Andrew have a heart that beats; a mind that conjures stories; a voice to express your ideas that others might hear. now, that is something; something indeed.
Thank you Mr. Olach. I am OK...and getting better. Peace to you.
Great vocals and delivery, reminds me of Anthony Kiedis from RHCP, all the best!
Thank you Mr. Lally. I am doing better.....I am writing again. One day I will be outside the walls of this place.
Hey Andrew, I listened to Lonely Road, very nice, passionate. Reminds me of John Hiatt. You're getting better, stay strong buddy
Mr. Hunter thank you. I will listen to John Hiatt.
Hi Andrew how's it going? You know I think the first important thing for just about everybody is to totally throw out the idea of "making it" in the sense of some commercial success or recognition. There are so so many people out there making music, and a lot of them are really fantastic. It's just not likely tha t anyone is going to be discovered by a music mogul, and the ones that are making progress in this direction are often putting most of the year into relentless touring and playing. That's a hard life. But the good news is making original music is still one of the coolest, most satisfying things to do. And if you put time into reviewing the music of *other* people here with attention and thoughfulness you'll find that favor returned, and you'll meet new peers with whom to exchange musical ideas. And that's pretty wonderful. And it's all about growth in our own art and spirit--call it modern day alchemy. Developing your music is not a destination , it's a process. And it's a lot deeper than trying to get a minute on the radio. Keep at it and watch yourself grow. All the best!! ~Jeff
Hello Andrew, I just listened to several of your songs, and I must say, your vocals are pure and lovely, expressing your very raw and plaintiff songs! Great work sir, and keep writing what's in your heart, for it touches so many!
thank you for the encouragement Mr. Roberts. and Ms. Corkran. Peace to you.
I guess I have not had any endorsements or interest?
I am beginning to wonder why I am here. I do not really fit the mold.
There's no mold Andrew; and there are so many artists here that are as individual as you are--it just takes time and reaching out to make connections.
Andrew, Those of us with the names of saints are both touched and blessed. Be healed! -St. Nick
Incredible lyrics, guitar playing and Raw emotive voice in " animal in zoos" and " outlaw".there is .nothing more covincing to anyone then what one is truly experiencing , and turning it into a song.... I can hear "outlaw" in a film... Please continue writing Andrew ,you have a special gift.....
Just listened to "You Where There for Me". Such a wonderful, heartwarming song....a song of hope! Sincerely, Ray (Andrew's dad)
Thank you so much, Ray.. I can't imagine the pain as a family you are all going through... I will continue to pray for this recovery, healing and strength!... There are so many on this site with such sweet hearts .. So many prayers will start to flow out to your family!.... God bless... Julia
* his recovery
Hi .. I have to write you as I was very moved by your life story..I first want to say I admire the fact you are using your music in a way to cope with your life's struggles...I can only imagine the sense of hopelessness and loneliness in your situation.. But I can tell you you will be ok! Because you have a gift of strength that is rare to find... Also please know you are now in my prayers for strength and continued healing... I had witnessed postpartum depression.. So I have a little clue as to what that" place " feels like.. And I also wrote a song about it" you were there for me" another one with life's struggles" He can find your heart".. I am not sure if you have a spiritual side.. But in my experience "He " was the one who answered my prayers.. .. Some hesitate to share their faith as to be afraid to offend... I only do it out of love for another precious soul.... Blessings, Julia
Hi Julia, Thank you for your kind words and sharing a bit of your story. You obviously understand! I am writing on behalf of Andrew as he is not able to. His computer time is very limited. He is currently in a State hospital. He writes and records his songs and gives me and his mom the recorder when we visit. I upload to his Reverb Site and now here. Andrew really wants to try to make a difference when he gets out...and is able to actually record and talk to folks. He hopes his music will help others understand what it means to go through and struggle with serious mental illness...depression, bi-polar, etc. At the present time...he is not doing so well...but we are praying he snaps out of his low. I just posted another song he write last week called "Alone". It is sad....but real...and expresses what he is feeling. Thank you again. I will give your song a listen! Please continue to keep Andrew in your prayers. Sincerely, Ray (Andrew's Dad)
Prayers can move mountains ! For nothing is impossible for God!... Many prayers will continue out to your family! Please let him know there are people who care , even complete strangers... But we are connected spiritually and musically!.... I will takes listen to more songs I see you has posted of his.. Keep in touch ... Julia:)
Sorry for typos!..:)
I agree!...the best thing for Andrew to do IS get those feelings out on paper
Digg the song "What You Do". Has a real vintage sound ...60's -70's like...yet retains a modern feel. Great songwriting!
Gosh thanks Andrew!! Hey we were Reverb Nation friends--good to see you here. This is a great community!
Hi Jeff, Writing on behalf of Andrew. I was taking a look at the site and stopped by to have a listen! Great music Jeff! Andrew is still in the hospital and I am trying to get his music heard. He writes and records his songs from his hospital room. He is going to be there for a while. Please keep him in your prayers. Sincerely, Ray (Andrew's dad)
