Hi Cheryl- Wish I could give a good report, or any report at this time, but I am unable to do so currently. I've not heard anything more up to this point. I have inquired to Mr. Whinemon and am awaiting a response. Knowing this fast paced business moves at a snails pace (an oxymoron) like watching paint dry, I'm blaming the holidays for the wait. Hi Frank, It's swell of you to give me an update and by the way, congradulations. I listened to, and like your song. I just got a bit skeptical with my listing when I got a non specific email from the provider telling me to keep an" open mind about other opportunities" even though it's a "selected" song. Of course, I had read the "selected" Broadjam email and got excited first, only to call the whole world, and then the let down from the provider email .That being said, please let me know if your Reality show comes through and if anything comes of mine, I'll certainly let you know that! Received an update from Mr. Hinesmon about the 'possibility' of placement with a new show, name & info withheld and that I would be contacted immediately if song is actually placed. hmmm. Golly, what a jolly guy you are! I can see you're lots of fun and funny, just like me! Of course, that's when I'm not feeling like a songwriting failure. Speaking of funny, I spoke to Chris from Broadjam about the 2 alleged selected submissions, and he told me he'd contact the providers and have them get back to me with as many details as possible. He promised to also contact me yesterday about their response. But Chris also didn't contact me. Not to mention the musical I've been writing for 3 years was just rejected from the NYMF music festival. So and as you know it's all in the details. I figure if one of those Broadjam selections come through I'll be surprised and happy. If not, I'm going to write the ultimate Broadjam song, something like, I thought I got selected but instead I got rejected. My five bucks was a mi-stake cause that Broadjam brought me heartache. Cheryl- you got to keep a positive attitude. Songwriting is a lot of rejection from a lot of 'pros'. You get a lot of no's but only need one YES! The $5 is nothing. Invest your time and energy into writing more. The Beatles were rejected by at least 10 record companies and only half heartedly believed in by Capitol but look what happened. Those 'pros' probably jumped off bridges the next day! lol Keep the faith and keep plugging' away! Good luck and Merry Christmas!
Hi Frank, what a great pep talk! So Thanks for that, I need it. And all at Christmas time. Actually, have a love/hate relationship with the music I write. On the one hand I feel compelled to create while on the other, frustrated and perplexed at rejection. But Frank, that's a great example with the Beatles, and those examples do help! So frankly, Frank, I will leave you with a inspirational song, GREEN AND BLUE I just completed, CLOUDS MAY SHED THEIR TEARS, BUT THEN THE SUN APPEARS, GREEN AND BLUE Merry Christmas Only and wise Frank.
