I was born in a small coal mining town right outside of Charleston, West Virginia called Gauley Bridge. Life was hard growing up we had to struggle to get everything we had. As I think back now I'm amazed how we survived. We lived with my grandmother on occasion and having 15 people living in a 2 room house amazes me to this day. I remember many times sleeping on the floor and when the wood burning pot belly stove went out your toes would turn to popsicles boy I get cold just thinking about it.  Listen to my song "WEST BY GOD", which tells my story of growing up in the mountains.  I try to always write about these life experiences to this day. When you hear one of my songs listen close...some are true stori

And I forgot to mention the rats nibbling at our feet sometimes...it would scare us so bad sometimes we'd want to jump out the window.
My parents divorced when I was about 6 years old and I lived with several different families as I grew up, life was difficult with a couple of the families but that's another story. (If you want to write my biography please email me)...

When I was about 10 years old my mother came and got me and we moved to a small town in Maryland right outside of Baltimore called Elkton. I attended Elkton High school until I joined the army in 1974. While in the US Army I was stationed in Japan and while living in Japan I visited a lot of other nearby Asian countries and met a lot of nice people. 1979 started out with a bang and I met Yoko and we were married that same year. I still travel to Japan about every 3 or 4 years.

In 1989 a tragedy happened in our family that will always be in the back of my mind, my 16 year old Niece who was almost like a daughter to me was murdered and my sister was shot numerous times by an individual who just walked in and started shooting. My sister survived but is partially paralyzed on her right side. Then to make things worse my sisters house burned down a year or two later. We would have one hell of a book to write someday but again that's another story.

Anyway, Having those life experiences is what I try to put in my songs today. Like "No Shoes On My Feet", I wrote that song with my mother in mind. I don't know how many times she would tell me while growing up..."Son, stop complaining 'cause I used to have to walk 2 miles with no shoes on my feet,. Sometimes it would go as far as 10 miles with no shoes on my feet in 2 feet of snow, lol. I wrote "Angel Eyes" for my niece who was murdered. I think you can hear the emotions coming out in that song. "The Magic In Her Eyes" was one of the first songs I ever wrote and is based on the first time I ever met my wife, yes as the lyrics goes...she's got me under her spell.

I now have over 7 songs published and several songs recorded on CD's. "Angel Eyes" was just released on Stardust Records out of Nashville in March of 2005 and is playing on various radio stations overseas, so if you live overseas call and request "Angel Eyes" be played. I will have a song released to radio stations overseas every two months in 2005 begining July 2005 and they will be published by my new company "TWO CATS PUBLISHING". I have written many songs now over the years and I can proudly say that I have over 400 songs/lyrics in my catalog from Country to Rock, Blues and yes even RAP.

When you hear one of my songs listen close...some are true stories, some are fantasies, and some are just about life. Write what you believe in, Write about love, happiness and the joy of living...We are here as songwriters to make people happy to make them sing out loud and to make them think.

I would love to hear from everyone who visits my page. Send me an email about anything...
