Born and raised in the Detroit area, she has been performing on stages across the country since a very early age as both a singer and musical theater actress. While attending the University of Michigan on an academic scholarship after graduating from high school, Stephanie K was introduced to esteemed 4-time Grammy Award winning producer Michael J Powell (best known for his work with Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, Aaliyah and SWV.) Their chemistry was immediately palpable, and the duo began an unprecedented partnership in combining the best elements of pop, rock, soul and funk.
