Believe it or not, i started out as a drummer. now i have morphed to the point where i compose ambient music and most of my songs have no drums in them, ( well,klaus schulze was the original drummer in tangerine dream. he left the band and became the foremost MOOG synth player of his generation. so there is precedent. I used to program on a Roland boss DR-660 drum machine and I played a Yamaha electronic keyboard before moving to computer based music with Acid Pro,Orion Platinum,NI Absynth and FM synths ,various VST's and plug ins.
