Story Behind The Song
Suzanne Vick wrote and released "Loud & Free" in honor of Catherine Fox, who was killed by her husband in Milford, CT on September 23, 2011. Vick had the honor of singing at Fox's memorial service on October 1 and was so moved by the tragedy and the beautiful things that were said at the service, she wrote the song as a tribute.
"Loud & Free" was co-produced, mixed and recorded by Vick's friend Scott White of White House Productions in Shelton, CT. Proceeds from the song will benefit members of Fox's family who have endured hardships as a result of this tragedy. "Loud & Free" is available for digital download on iTunes and CDBaby.com.

Lyrics
LOUD & FREE - words and music by Suzanne Vick ( © 2011)
Mother I remember you baking Christmas cookies as the snow came tumbling down
And running home with my report card smiling to myself knowing how those A's would make you proud
And your effervescent smile and the laughter that would shimmer and linger in the air long after it resolved
And your selfless good nature, obsessive love of bingo and the way you could sing a song
And we pause to acknowledge your absence
And we pause to acknowledge the silence / left behind
Wherever you go, wherever you are
You'll always live deep inside me
And I promise you right here, I promise you right now
I'll always live loud and free
Mother I can feel you in the rustling wind on a beautiful crisp fall day
Mother I can hear you in the call of a bird crystal clear yet so far away
Mother I can see you in the face of my child when she smiles and her eyes shine bright
Mother I can sense you as I lay in my bed listening to the stillness that is the night
And we pause to acknowledge your presence
And we pause to acknowledge the life you left / behind
Wherever you go, wherever you are
You'll always live deep inside me
And I promise you right here, I promise you right now
I'll always live loud and free
Despite the constant struggle
Despite the fear for years on end
You lived and you laughed and you gave and your grew
And you loved us with all of you
And we pause to acknowledge your courage
And we pause to soak in your love
Wherever you go, wherever you are
You'll always live deep inside me
And I promise you right here, I promise you right now
I'll always live loud and free (2x)
Mother I remember you baking Christmas cookies as the snow came tumbling down...
