Story Behind The Song
This song was one of two very quickly - written songs, circa 1989. Short and sweet. Took a long time to finally record it, though.
Song Description
Two ex-lovers unable to go back to or forward from a time gone by. The result: complete stagnancy! Kind of depressing but I tried to keep it majestic in contrast to the bleak moments.

Lyrics
Rain falls outside my window
As I lay thinking
Should I have picked up the phone today?
The same thoughts paralyze you
Reflecting back on yesterday
Chorus:
We are prisoners, we are prisoners
Captured in the middle of a time gone by
We are prisoners, we are prisoners
Captured in the middle of a time gone by
Desire lurks beneath the surface
With reparation
Still somewhere caught between now and then
A stale-mate forever binds us
From moving on or back again
(Chorus)
