I Can't Wait

Story Behind The Song

Thinking back to when I was 11 years old. I walked Andrea home from ice skating at Wilson Park in Milwaukee and she kissed me goodnight. Now, 60 years later, I remembered this life changing event and incorporated the idea into a song and added the details of how I met my wife, Linda.

Song Description

A song of remembering what it felt like to receive my first kiss from a beautiful young girl named Andrea. I wonder where she is today.

Lyrics

I Can't Wait To Taste Your Lips Again
You caught me by surprise the first time you kissed my lips
I felt your love shoot thru my soul right down to my fingertips
I hardly knew what happened I thought we were only friends
Now, I can't wait, no, I can't wait to taste your lips again

Your beauty on that evening well it took my breath away
The music played, our bodies swayed, my heart held you at bay
I wish I would have realized that we were more than friends
Oh darling, I can't wait, no, I can't wait to taste your lips again

Bridge: Was it only moonlight that made me ask you to dance?
I can't blame the starlight it kept saying "take a chance on Romance?"
Is it my infatuation that keeps calling your name?
Oh darling, I can't wait, no, I can't wait to taste your lips again

SOLO

Bridge: Was it only moonlight that made me ask you to dance?
I can't blame the starlight it kept saying "take a chance on Romance?"

When I came to my senses, turned around you were gone
You disappeared from my world and life kept moving on
Every day I dream about you and I sing this love's refrain
Darling, I can't wait, no, I can't wait to taste your lips again
Darling, I can't wait, no, I can't wait to taste your lips again
