Story Behind The Song
I was playing my banjo and a string broke, much to my dismay as I had no more banjo strings and was really enjoying it. So I put a note up on Facebook and a friend replied that it would make a great strong "broken banjo string" and Broken came from that.
Song Description
When there's a breakup the pain makes you feel like you are physically broken inside, it seems that nothing could ever repair that pain. Nothing can possibly convey the heartbreak.

I was pickin on my banjo, late last night
Til I broke a string, now it don't sound right
To be writing sad songs on a cheerful guitar, can't convey to you my broken heart
-
Minor chords can't help me, relay the pain
words can't accompany, tears like rain
It's just my banjo and its melanchonly tone, now even he's left me alone
-
I'm broken, we're broken
-
There's nothing left to do but, change that string
Nothing left to do but, return the ring
But I'm not ready yet to let it go, I'm hoping maybe tomorrow
-
I'm hoping, Still hoping
-
I was pickin on my banjo, late last night
Til I broke a string, now it don't sound right
To be writing sad songs on a cheerful guitar, can't convey to you my broken heart
