Story Behind The Song
My husband Tim and I were climbing Mt. Lassen in northern California. (This is the national park where we met in 1972, back when I was 19 years old.) Now we're climbing the very same mountain as senior citizens and the wind is blowing like crazy! Almost felt like it could blow me off the mountain. So I started writing this song (just singing it in my head) as we hiked. I couldn't get it out of my head, so I ended up recording it and pairing it with another song about the Holy Spirit. Part two of the song is one I often sing after reading the bible and praying in the morning...great way to start the day!
Song Description
Using wind, race car engines and infused with excitement, this song invites the Holy Spirit to take over. We want to hunger more and be filled. We want to be saved from sin. We want to hear and obey. That is the heart cry of the first part of the song. Part 2 is a prayer to be filled the Holy Spirit and protected by the armor of God. It continues the heart cry of the soul reaching out to Jesus to get strength for the day. How we need God's grace to sustain us!

Lyrics
Holy Spirit, blow me down, blow me down, blow me down.
Holy Spirit, blow me down, twenty miles an hour
Holy Spirit, blow me down, blow me down, blow me down.
Holy Spirit, blow me down. Zap me with your power.
Fill me up to bursting
Keep me ever-thirsting
Save me from the worst thing
Oh may I always listen to You.
And do what You want me to do (do do, do do do do do do)
Subsequent verses: Sing faster: 40, 60 miles an hour
Part Two
Fill me with Your Spirit
Coat me with Your armor
Gotta get me through this day
All I really need is You, Jesus
Grace upon grace upon grace
