Story Behind The Song

All my life people have doubted me and I always had to show them I was no joke. Since I have been recording it has been the same just intensified. So this song is my way of telling them not to ever get it twisted again. I'm cummin with that Heat. Yet the "Heat is nothing but the power given to me by my Creator and my ancestors. So I pay homage to them in the song. Also I wanted to do an uplifting anthem type song for my folks from my hometown of Detroit. No matter where you are from or what they say we all can cum with that heat and defy the odds. I want to write the soundtrack for this era just beyond the millenium.

Song Description

It really is an ode to the struggle of all the Masters of great Soul Music and the struggle of people of African descent globally. I incorporated lots of familiar sounds of black music. You will hear everything from the classic call and response and soul claps of the church to the "woah" of Sam Cooke. I tend to have the raw vocal energy of David Ruffin and Curtis Mayfield as well.
