Story Behind The Song
My struggle at coming to terms with this struggle of getting my music to the masses and finally being able to stand on my feet. The esoteric portion of this would be coming to terms with my inner demons or karma. The anxiety, pain, frustration, feelings of victimization, and the struggle to come out victorious.
Song Description
The song is an ode to Marvin Gaye and his pain as well as the 70's soul of Curtis Mayfield with Staple Singers vocals. It has the legendary Fender Rhodes of Anthony Brewster driving the song and really creating the atmosphere. Lyrically, it is my story of coping with the pressures and expectations I put upon myself. The thoughts of being a gifted and talented artist that cannot feed himself on the money he earns yet having to go on daily and be strong. Yet he feels ,as I do, as though he will overcome this but right now it is all-pervasive so he is celebrating the pain he feels. Somewhere the artist knows that he will be on another level after these trials.

Lyrics
There's a fire in my kitchen
Ain't nobody bitchin'
but me
they can't see
what I see
and what I see
is me believe it
I see myself unravelin' 'cause all this shit's been travelin'
through my brain
in my brain
it's insane
all this pain
I just got to release it
Chorus
Howse afyah(repeat 16x)
No fretting on the small stuff
'cause I don't wanna be messin' the party up
cause in my mind
I can find
in my heart
I can start
I know that I feel it
I see these niggaz trippin'
niggaz be flippin' the script and
well i just wanna keep livin'
but love ain't what they givin' no
