Story Behind The Song
The genres offered by broadjam are too limited. This is a CHORAL song. I wrote it as an expression of my support for (genuine) war hero, Dr. Richard Jadick, the American Naval surgeon who was awarded the Bronze Star with "Combat V" device for heroic valor in January 2006 -- and his Volunteer organization, The Independence Fund, helping wounded/disabled Vets.
Song Description
"To Those Who Came Before Us" honors those in everyone's lives and personal histories whose hard work, achievements and sacrifices precede us and inspire daily efforts to attain our aspirations. For Jim, these include his parents - Athanasios and Caryl Papoulis. For Mike, it's Sam and Lucille Greenly.
The song was also conceived to honor the bravery of military men and women who are faced with the uncertainty and danger of representing their nation with loyalty, courage and potential sacrifice. The songwriters are inspired by a remarkable organization, The Independence Fund, which works to move severely injured American military veterans toward greater independent mobility.
