Lyrics
No Son of Mine
1-I can hear you boy, calling me ? telling me
I can hear you child, bringing me down
Pretty woman, hey, tell her I?ve run away
But don?t tell her I?m still in town
Chorus ?
Hey Billy boy ? Take care of everything
Be a man and you?ll turn out fine
But if you let me down - And start wandering
Then you can?t be ? No you can?t be, no son of mine
2-Your Momma is mighty fine womanhood
But your daddy is a very bad man
I?d be better if I truly thought that I could
But I?m moving on while I can
Chorus ?
Hey Billy boy ? Take care of everything
Be a man and you?ll turn out fine
But if you let me down - And start wandering
Then you can?t be ? No you can?t be, no son of mine
Slide solo
3-There?s the tally man ? Better be on my way
If he catches me, he?ll bust my head
When you find the time ? Get away, out of here
But tell you Momma that you think I?m dead
Chorus ?
Hey Billy boy ? Take care of everything
Be a man and you?ll turn out fine
But if you let me down - And start wandering
Then you can?t be ? No you can?t be, no son of mine
Repeat.
