Story Behind The Song
Been there! I wanted to make fun of the way we can become lost in the aura of another, believing only they can save us from ourselves.
Song Description
The story of a man/woman obsessed with another, and how much they want to be noticed, whatever it takes. There's a feeling of desparation, lonlieness and isolation in the lyrics, but it's certainly not without it's tongue-in-cheek humour. The up-beat melody counteracts the song becoming maudlin and depressing.

Lyrics
Someone Else For You
You're the accident my stars predicted
We collided, I've been this way inflicted
I can't seem to stand on my own two feet anymore.
I've lost my personality and the friends that went with it
Nothings ever going to be as it was before.
Chorus:
I only want to be the centre of your attention,
I want to be someone else for you.
All those things I said I'd done were only sheer invention
I want to be someone else for you.
I could walk away from you now with every intention
That I won't call again or be tempted by seduction
But your number's engaged on my index finger.
My pre-occupation is with wasting my time
Here I am hanging on an engaged line
Still the temptation is always to linger.
Chorus
Oh, I don't want to be real anymore
If you were a writer then turn me into fiction
If you are a painter then turn me into paint.
Oh, I don't want to be real anymore
If you are a scientist then turn me into friction
If you are a singer then make me a lament.
Chorus
