Story Behind The Song
It was well known that if they launch their missiles ,my town would be almost the first to go. At&t had their Reginal Communications office just miles away and so it would be targeted first. We practice duck and cover and the teachers would cry during the bus drills ,we would not exist in but an instant. No warning would reach us in time. We would have only 10 min after launch ,we may not even hear of it at all, we were told. Also known as
" Please don't let me die"
Song Description
My emotional plead as a 11 yr year during the ' Cuban Missile Crises'. The closest thing we have come to Nuclear war. Put to music in 1989 this prayer attempts to cover every soul living or not ,in it's plead to see the morning. What greater pressure is there than to lie down to sleep in fear of not waking , a world so tense that this prayer might be my last one of all. They told if launch came at night, we would have no warning. We would all be evaporated in our sleep.

Lyrics
ALL I LAY ME ( by John Harvill , all rights reserved )
All I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
And if I die before I wake
I pray thee father my soul to take
I pray thee father my soul to take
Bless the people that I love
And bless the ones I'm not thinking of
Bless the people that are scorn
Lord bless the children not yet born
But don't let me die , don't let me die
Chorus
Please don't let me die ,tonight don't let me die
Bless my father and my mother too
Together they became a tool
And created a creature that doth love
The Father, Son and ones above
Loves the Father and the ones above
Chorus
Another day is my request
But lay me down and let me rest
For when tomorrow I face the test
I can praise thee Father and do my best
I can praise thee Father and do my best
Chorus
Repeat first verse
