Story Behind The Song
It had gotten to be very late on the last night of a cruise. The boat was back in port early the next day and it seemed like everyone was sacked out when I wondered up on deck. Standing on the bow, I could hear the sound of the boat slicing through the water and I could feel the wind. Looking port and starboard was only the inky blackness of night. A ¾ moon hung in front of the boat, providing a path of light we sailed into. Soon enough we would return to a world of difficulty, but right then was nothing but peace, tranquility, and gratitude for the moment. I at last understood why sailors love the sea.
